Keywords:
Public Perception, Rural Areas, Islamic BankingAbstract
This study aims to analyze rural communities' perceptions of Islamic banking with a case study in Cipayung Village, Megamendung District, Bogor Regency. The background of this research is the still low level of literacy and financial inclusion of Islamic banking in rural areas, despite the continued growth of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants were purposively selected, consisting of community leaders and village residents. The results of the study show that the community's perception of Islamic banks is still relatively low, caused by limited access to services, minimal socialization, and low public understanding of the principles and products of Islamic banking. This study is expected to contribute to the development of strategies for Islamic finance literacy and inclusion in rural areas.
